who are you?

hey, i'm brandon

i'm a midwesterner, an entrepreneur, an engineer by training, a product manager by trade, and now a baker!

i'm originally from chicagoland, spent over a decade in san francisco and i've now lived in andersonville for 5 years. there's no place i'd rather call home and i plan to be here for a very long time! perhaps you've seen me around with my dog magnolia, or on the beach soaking up the sun.

i'm a big believer in our local economy and i have often argued that if we want our fantastic queer neighborhood remain vibrant, we need more of us to stepping up to build businesses here.

so i figured it's time to take my own advice – and that's how the good one began!

are you for real?

you betcha! wild as it sounds, i recently decided to shake things up by using my entrepreneurial skills to give andersonville something it’s been missing: an amazing donut shop.

my professional background isn't in baking or food service – i've spent nearly 20 years building complex products with early stage, venture-backed companies. while I’m proud of my career so far, since returning home to chicago, I’ve been searching for a meaningful way to channel my experience and passion into something truly local—something that directly supports and enriches our community.

so... why donuts?

honestly, donuts just feel perfect. everyone remembers the joy of biting into a great donut, whether it was just around the corner or discovered far away on a trip. as I’ve done my donut ‘homework,’ i’ve encountered countless inspiring stories from donut shops both near and far. with care, love, and a bit of relentless dedication, i know a truly great donut shop can create lasting memories for andersonville locals and visitors alike. and that is truly the greatest motivator that sees me through that hard work every day!

the plan

who doesn't love phases? don't worry, business jargon won't make the donuts taste worse!

phase 1: making dough

you're looking at phase 1 now. the idea is simple but difficult — i set out to make a donut so good that people curse after the first bite! originally i planned online pre-orders (which you may have signed up for!) but the chance to give everyone a fresh bite right out of the fryer was just too tempting! when i made the connection with loaves & witches, everything just clicked and now i can't wait for you to come in and try some–follow us on instagram to learn about future frydays!

phase 2: raising dough

with donuts in your hands and everyone craving more, it'll be time to scale up! my goal is to bring you along for every step of the journey to build out the real kitchen. it's going to be expensive and any new commercial kitchen requires an incredible amount of planning, organization, and forethought. luckily i'm already working on all these problems and i've got a plethora of knowledgeable folks helping me navigate that complexity. want to get involved early? get in touch!

phase 3: donuts & bolts

now it's all about turning plans, blueprints, and dreams into reality! building the space, outfitting the kitchen, and making it all ready for you - it'll take a lot of donut-fueled work. you'll get to see progress along the way and hopefully you'll agree it's worth the wait.
